The Monastery was once a Benedictine monastery and is one of the most important buildings in Bavaria. The church was built from 1225, appears high Middle Ages and is preserved in its appearance. Since the abandonment of the monastic establishment in the Reformation is the former monastery church of the parish church of the village.
The monastery itself was rebuilt after a fire around 1701 and again used for very different purposes. There was once a hotel, then an emigrant home, most recently in the historic rooms was an art school set up. Today, the rooms empty and waiting for people they meet again with life.
The church is open all day and can always be visited.
